30mm Jigsaw Mats. We stock a vast array of BJJ mats with varying densities and grips. 30mm Jiujitsu mats are a mid range thickness mat ideal for ground work combat sports such as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. All mats are 1.05m x 1.05m complete with edging strips and 1m x 1m without edging strips.
Which thickness mat do I need? Basically its all about when the mat ‘goes to zero’ upon impact. If you are using head gear and protection and no throws then 20mm is sufficient. If some throws are used then 30mm upwards is recommended. MMA and Judo for example should use 40mm and consider Judo Mats and rollout mats as well as jigsaw mats.
30mm Jigsaw mats are the most cost effective mat compared to Judo or roll out mats. They are also fully reversible to prolong life and create zonal markings which cannot be achieved with rollout mats or Judo mats. Jigsaw mats can also be cut to fit a room as a permanent fixture. These mats are easily cut with a knife around any obstacle making them by far the most versatile among mat types.
